ABOUT
Martin Weiss, born in 1996 in Carinthia, Austria, lives and works as a filmmaker and editor in Vienna. His passion for filmmaking began with his early enthusiasm for skateboarding. Together with friends, he documented their experiences in extreme sports and discovered his fascination with visual composition and film editing.
Since 2019, he has been studying at the Film Academy Vienna (MDW) with a focus on editing, where he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in directing and editing after completing his Bachelor’s. Throughout his studies and work as an editor, he has been involved in several film projects that have screened at renowned festivals such as the Sarajevo Film Festival, the Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis, Diagonale, and Vienna Shorts.
In addition to his work as an editor, he writes and develops screenplays and directs short films, documentaries, and music videos. His own short films have been shown at festivals including Interfilm Berlin and several other international film festivals.
Furthermore, Martin Weiss is an active member of Kultur in der Mühle (KidM) in Carinthia, an association that organizes cultural events and concerts in a historic mill surrounded by nature, where he also regularly works as a photographer.
